Retired CIA Deputy Director Michael Morell Elected To Goodyear Board

Morell joined the CIA in 1980 and had several positions within the agency, including director of intelligence, executive director and deputy director at the National Counterterrorism Center.

AKRON, Ohio – Michael Morell has been elected to the board of directors at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.
 
Morell is retired deputy director of the CIA. Morell joined the CIA in 1980 and had several positions within the agency, including director of intelligence, executive director and deputy director at the National Counterterrorism Center.
 
Morell, a native of Northeast Ohio, has a bachelor’s degree from The University of Akron, a master’s from Georgetown University and is a senior fellow at Harvard University’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.
 
Throughout his career, Morell received a number of awards, including the Presidential Rank Award for exceptional performance, the Distinguished Intelligence Medal for his role in the 2011 operation against Osama Bin Laden, the Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal, the National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal, the Department of Defense Service Medal and four CIA Director’s Awards.
 
The election of Morell brings the size of Goodyear’s board to 13 members, the tiremaker said.
