MIDLAND, Mich. Registration is now open for the 2009-10 class of the University of the Aftermarket Leadership 2.0 experience, which will take place Sept. 20-25 on the campus of Northwood University in Midland, Mich., and April 11-16, 2010, at the University’s West Palm Beach, Fla., campus.
Candidates are encouraged to apply as early as possible, as the previous two classes sold out quickly.
Leadership 2.0 is the motor vehicle aftermarket’s premier leadership development program. The experience is designed for any mid-level professional working in any segment of the aftermarket, including manufacturing, retail operations, wholesale distributing, program group management, association management and vehicle service operations.
“[Attendees from] each of our past two classes continue to rave about the experience,” said University of the Aftermarket Director Brian Cruickshank, AAP. “It’s one thing to enjoy the speakers, the opportunity to interact with industry peers and participating in the team project, but the real value of Leadership 2.0 comes through your ability to affect positive change within your organization. Our students tell us the experience has made them more effective on the job.”
Leadership 2.0 consists two intensive five-day on-campus sessions. Between sessions, participants collaborate on projects that tackle aftermarket-specific leadership challenges. Teams present their projects during Session II, and the best team project, as judged by peers, is invited to present their project at the annual Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS).
Led by Northwood faculty and senior aftermarket executives and leaders, Leadership 2.0 includes a blend of industry research and market analysis, discussion and debate on aftermarket challenges and competitive strategies, individual communication skills training, negotiations and conflict management, insight into supply chain solutions and other industry topics.
The price to participate in the 2009-10 Leadership 2.0 program is $5,895, and includes tuition, lodging and meals. Participants receive 6.0 continuing education units (CEU) to be applied toward their AAP (Automotive Aftermarket Professional) and/or MAAP (Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional) certificates.
