SOUTHFIELD, MI — R. L. Polk & Co. has announced the appointment of Mike Gingell as vice president of its General Motors team. In this role, Gingell will be responsible for managing the development, production, sale and delivery of products and services to the General Motors account. He will report to Mary Templeton, senior vice president of Polk’s OEM group.
"With more than 12 years of experience at Polk, and a great deal of passion for the automotive industry, Mike is an accomplished leader with a results-oriented background," said Templeton. "Mike’s extensive understanding of data-driven solutions and his ability to thoroughly develop client relationships are just two of the many assets he will bring to the General Motors account."
Prior to his appointment, Gingell served as vice president of Polk’s Aftermarket and Commercial Vehicle teams within the company’s Strategic Markets group. Gingell’s achievements include leading the efforts to create the Polk Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket Demand Factors, the Polk Product Lifecycle product, the VIO forecast for North America, the Aftermarket Advisory Board and the Polk Inventory Efficiency Award. In 2006, he was the recipient of the Automotive Hall of Fame’s prestigious 2006 Young Leadership and Excellence Award, recognizing men and women under 35 years of age who have demonstrated significant potential as future automotive industry leaders.
Gingell holds a bachelor of science degree from Oakland University and a master of business administration from Wayne State University. He is an active member of the Sales and Marketing Executives of Detroit, TEC Detroit, Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA), Detroit Economic Club, Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) and various other industry committees.
