Purolator Broadens Heavy Duty Coverage with Air Dryer Filters

As vehicle components are becoming increasingly sophisticated, their tolerance for moisture and other contaminants is a major concern. Modern air brake systems, for example, need clean and dry air to function properly and reliably. Air dryers, as a result, are fast becoming a necessary component on today's trucks and buses, according to Purolator.

BROADVIEW, Ill. – In response to a growing need in the marketplace, Purolator has introduced a compressed Air Dryer/Filter (Part # A26000) for a variety of truck and bus applications. These include many buses and a variety of trucks including Freightliner – Cascadia, Century, FLD; International 4000, 7000, and 9000 truck series; Kenworth C500-W900 Series Trucks; Mack Trucks; Peterbilt 320-389 Trucks; and Volvo VHD, VNL, VT Trucks.

As vehicle components are becoming increasingly sophisticated, their tolerance for moisture and other contaminants is a major concern. Modern air brake systems, for example, need clean and dry air to function properly and reliably. Air dryers, as a result, are fast becoming a necessary component on today’s trucks and buses, according to the company.

“Moisture and dirt are every machine’s enemy; they ruin their functionality," said John Enright, senior product manager for Purolator Heavy Duty Filters.

According to Enright, "Keeping clean, dry compressed air flowing in heavy duty air brake systems ensures system longevity and is vital in any preventive maintenance program. The addition of this new filter will allow truck maintenance facilities to cover many popular trucks and buses with a single part number."
