PPG has announced that its automotive refinish business has named CHC Paint & Body Shop Supplies of Toronto, Canada, its 2018 Platinum Distributor of the Year.

The annual award honors the distributor that demonstrates outstanding performance, loyalty, product knowledge and customer service and support.

John Parran, PPG director, Platinum Distributor program, U.S. and Canada, presented the award at the annual PPG Platinum Distributor Conference held Feb. 21-24 at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort in Orlando, Florida. The annual conference brings together PPG Platinum Distributors from across the United States and Canada. Pino Chiappetta, CHC president, and the company’s senior leadership and regional managers accepted the award on behalf of the CHC organization.

“We are excited and proud to announce our first Platinum Distributor of the Year from Canada,” said Parran. “CHC Paint & Body Shop Supplies had a great 2018. In addition to the Platinum Distributor of the Year honors, we also recognized CHC for winning the most new collision centers in Canada for the second consecutive year. CHC’s achievements are the result of years of hard work and shop wins, accomplished by Pino and his team.”

Along with Parran, PPG was represented by Michael McGarry, PPG chairman and CEO; Gary Danowski, PPG vice president, global automotive refinish; and Tom Maziarz, PPG general manager, collision, U.S. and Canada.

“We at CHC are extremely humbled and honored to be named the PPG Platinum Distributor of the Year for our performance in 2018,” said Chiappetta. “We continuously strive to stay focused on developing our people, providing the best service to our customers and delivering best-in-class products. Thank you, PPG, for your unwavering trust and loyalty. I also would like to extend a special thank you to our PPG team in the greater Toronto area for all its effort, support and leadership.”

The PPG Platinum Distributor program began as a loyalty and support initiative for PPG single-line distributors, with the ultimate goal of providing exceptional service and benefits for PPG automotive refinish customers. The program delivers competitive advantages to participants by aligning the technology, training and customer support of PPG with the entrepreneurship, customer awareness, local market knowledge and service capability of the independent distributor.
