Penray Honors Three Longtime Company Execs

Penray is honoring three individuals who are celebrating milestone anniversaries with the company in 2006. Bill Wicker has been selling chemicals to the automotive industry for 40 years, “Uncle” Darrell Hicks has been with Penray for 25 years, and has been selling to truckers, fleets and OEs for more than 40 years. Jim Ritchey has represented the Penray heavy-duty chemicals line for 25 years.

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL — Penray is honoring three individuals who are celebrating milestone anniversaries with the company in 2006. Bill Wicker has been selling chemicals to the automotive industry for 40 years, “Uncle” Darrell Hicks has been with Penray for 25 years, and has been selling to truckers, fleets and OEs for more than 40 years. Jim Ritchey has represented the Penray heavy-duty chemicals line for 25 years.

“All of us at Penray would like to congratulate Bill, Darrell and Jim for their many years of outstanding performance and quality service,” said Chris McKenzie, director of marketing. “These men are dedicated, committed and loyal individuals who have earned the respect of fellow coworkers, customers and industry members alike.”

Wicker joined Penray in 1965, as a regional sales manager and has maintained this position throughout his career. He is responsible for Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, Illinois, parts of Michigan and Missouri. In his position, Wicker sells new products to existing accounts, conducts sales meetings, field training and fuel system demos at the jobber and dealer levels and works at trade shows. He also handles phone calls for all territories concerning questions on products and fuel system usage. Wicker was previously recognized as a “Salesman of the Year” and had the first Penray territory to exceed $1 million in sales. He resides in Covington, IN.

Hicks joined Penray in 1980 as a territory sales manager. Today, he is the national OEM liaison for the company’s power fleet group. In this position he works with the engineering, service and production departments of the heavy-duty truck manufacturers. He conducts coolant installation quality audits and serves as a liaison between OEM field service management and warranty management. Hicks has received numerous awards and certifications throughout his career, including the prestigious Silver Spark Plug Award in 1992, from The Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC) of American Trucking Associations. Hicks resides in Maumelle, AR, with his wife of 39 years, Melva.

Ritchey has been a heavy-duty manufacturers’ rep for Penray since 1980. Over the course of his career, he has worked at Signal Stat Co., CW Scott & Co., Alderfer & Associates and JR Sales Co., where he has been since 2000. In this position, he calls on truck dealers, distributors, fleets and OEMs. Ritchey is a recognized associate of The Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC) and resides in Pittsburgh, PA.
