BINGHAMTON, NY — Tier Parts Warehouse has awarded two scholarships to students enrolled in the Automotive Technology program at Broome County Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) and one scholarship for students at D.C.M.O BOCES.
The scholarship program was originally developed in 2001, in conjunction with the 80th anniversary of Tier Parts Warehouse — a local family-owned company that operates and supplies 32 Parts Plus Autostores in central New York and northern Pennsylvania.
The scholarship program was established as a part of an ongoing effort to foster partnership between public education and local business. As part of an ongoing partnership with BOCES, Tier Parts Warehouse will provide funding for three separate cash awards of $500 each. The students who receive the scholarships can use the funding in one of two ways — as financial aid in post-secondary education or to assist with the costs associated with entering the work force.
This year’s scholarship winners were selected from two automotive areas of study at BOCES: auto-body repair and auto mechanics. The winners are Dennis Cole – Johnson City High School, Aaron Dusinberre – Binghamton High School, and Brian Button – Sherburne High School.
