Reliable Automotive Completes Acquisition of Add-On Distributing

Reliable Automotive, a Kansas-based wholesale specialty equipment distributor, has completed its purchase of privately-held Add-On Distributing, Inc., a specialty automotive wholesale distributor headquartered in South Burlington, Vermont. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

AutoZone Completes Acquisition of Eastern Parts Store Chain

Yesterday, AutoZone announced it had completed the purchase of selected assets of the Eastern U.S. auto parts chain, ABC Discount Auto Parts. ABC had been a long-time member of the RPM Group. The acquisition of ABC furthers AutoZone plans to develop market areas through asset acquisitions where the company currently is under-penetrated. ABC Discount Auto Parts operated 17 stores and one distribution center in Southern New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania. The company, previously owned by Lou and Carla Fishman, was headquartered in Cherry Hill, NJ.

The Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) has announced that participation in the third annual National Tire Safety Week has doubled this year, with more than 8,000 tire retail stores participating. Filtration products supplier, Clarcor Inc. is relocating its corporate headquarters from Rockford, Ill., to Nashville, Tenn. The move is expected to take place over the next six to 12 months.
