MACS Worldwide to Sponsor Women’s Board Scholarship Program

The Car Care Council Women’s Board announced the Mobile Air Conditioning Society (MACS) Worldwide has added its name to the growing list of aftermarket organizations who will sponsor its 2005 scholarship program. This year, the Women’s Board will award five scholarships to female students pursuing educations in automotive technology, with plans to enter the automotive field upon graduation.

IAPA Sponsors Car Care Council Women’s Board Scholarship

Independent Auto Parts of America (IAPA) has agreed to sponsor the Car Care Council Women’s Board 2005 scholarship program. The program will be awarding five scholarships to female students who are pursuing educations in automotive technology, with plans to enter the automotive field upon graduation.

AAIA Urges Attendance at Three Strategic Industry Events

The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) is urging aftermarket executives and managers to attend three very important events scheduled to take place in 2005. AAIA has rated the Aftermarket Legislative Summit, the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) and the Aftermarket eForum as ‘must-attend’ events for aftermarket executives and managers to stay in tune with the latest technology trends, management solutions and legislative initiatives.

Northwood Senior Named First Recipient of the Harvey Diedrich Advantage Scholarship

Brian Lesiewicz, a senior studying automotive aftermarket management at Northwood University, has been selected as the inaugural recipient of the Harvey Diedrich “Advantage” Scholarship. The Harvey Diedrich “Advantage” Scholarship fund was established in 2003 by friends of the longtime aftermarket executive who created innovative marketing programs for Tenneco Automotive’s Monroe Shocks and Struts and Walker Exhaust product lines. Diedrich died in June 2003.

CR/SKF Makes Scholarship Donation to GAAS Fund; Also Donates Kornafel Books to Northwood

Chicago Rawhide (CR)/SKF has made a $3,000 donation to the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) scholarship fund. The money is specifically earmarked for special circumstance applicants and will be part of the scholarship fund pool distributed next year to applicants for the annual aftermarket educational support effort by the GAAS Committee. In a separate effort, Diggory announced that the company has donated 50 copies of Pete Kornafel’s new book “Inventory Management and Purchasing – Tales from the Automotive Aftermarket” to the undergraduate Aftermarket Management studies program at Northwood University in Midland, Mich.
