Don Seyfer Named CARS 2005 Chairman

The Automotive Service Association (ASA) has announced Don Seyfer, AAM, will serve as chairman of the 2005 Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS). Seyfer is a longtime member of ASA and has held numerous industry and association leadership positions over more than four decades in the industry.

IRL to Celebrate Kick-off of 10th Season with 13-City ‘Green Flag Tour’

In celebration of the start of its 10th season, the Indy Racing League (IRL) announced it will launch a 14-day, 13-city “Green Flag Tour.” The tour, which will carry the green flag that will be used to start the season-opening Toyota Indy 300, will begin Feb. 21 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and conclude at Homestead-Miami Speedway on March 6. Along the way, the flag will travel some 7,500 miles, visiting nine of the country’s biggest cities and 10 markets that will host IndyCar Series events.

SAE Marks 100th Anniversary

Yesterday, Jan. 20, officially marked the Society of Automotive Engineers’ (SAE) 100 year anniversary. To commemorate its century of continued service to the mobility community, SAE has planned several special events, conferences and expositions throughout the year. SAE’s celebration will include gala events, specially commissioned 100th anniversary artwork and an interactive, traveling exhibit.
