Genuine Parts Company Reports First Quarter 2013 Results

Thomas Gallagher, chairman and CEO, announced that sales for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013, were $3.20 billion, up 0.6 percent compared to $3.18 billion in the first quarter of 2012. Net income for the quarter was $144.4 million, down 1 percent from $146.3 million recorded in the same period of the previous year. Earnings per share on a diluted basis were 93 cents, unchanged from the first quarter last year.
