The Akron, Ohio-based company will roll out its Assurance line this spring with its biggest advertising blitz in more than a decade. Amerityre Begins FMVSS No. 109 Testing of Prototype Polyurethane Car Tires

Amerityre Corporation announced that it has been submitting prototype polyurethane car tires to an independent lab for testing to determine if the tires comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 109, applicable to new pneumatic tires. FMVSS No. 109 specifies tire dimensions and laboratory test requirements for bead unseating resistance, strength, endurance and high-speed performance; defines tire load ratings; and specifies labeling requirements for passenger car tires.

More Than 300,000 Tests Taken in CCAR’s S/P2 Online Training

The Coordinating Committee For Automotive Repair (CCAR) has surpassed 300,000 tests taken in its “S/P2” online training in Safety and Pollution Prevention for the automotive repair industry.

Bandag Reports Fourth Quarter Results

Bandag Inc. has reported consolidated net income of $29.1 million, or $1.50 per diluted share, for fourth quarter 2003, compared to consolidated net income of $17.5 million, or $0.91 per diluted share in the fourth quarter 2002. Net income for both the fourth quarter 2002 and 2003 included favorable tax adjustments of approximately $3 million, or $0.15 per diluted share, resulting primarily from the resolution of certain tax matters.

NAPA/ASE Name Parts Specialist of the Year

Mike Mrozinski, a manager at Capital and Auto National Truck Service in Albany, N.Y., was recently named the 2004 NAPA/ASE Parts Specialist of the Year. Now in its fifth year, the NAPA/ASE Parts Specialist of the Year is awarded to a parts professional within the NAPA organization who demonstrates superior parts knowledge and business practices, a commitment to customer service and training, involvement in the community and outstanding service to the automotive parts, repair and maintenance industry. Judges include representatives from ASE, trade press, universities and aftermarket industry associations. Mrozinski was unanimously selected by the judges.

DST Unveils New Automated Email and Fax Options for its DSTWare Suite of Products

DST Inc. has launched new automated e-mailing and faxing options for users of its iSeries-based DSTWare suite of products. KeyesMail and KeyesFax were developed by Computer Keyes, a Woodway, Wa.-based software developer. Both KeyesMail and KeyesFax are full function automated packages for the iSeries systems.
