Atlas Copco Acquires Aftermarket Tool Supplier Rodcraft

Atlas Copco Holding GmbH has completed its acquisition of Rodcraft Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH, Germany, and all its subsidiary companies. Rodcraft Group, headquartered in MÜlheim an der Ruhr, Germany, has been supplying the automotive aftermarket industry for more than 25 years with pneumatic tools and workshop equipment.

Atlas Copco Completes its Acquisition of BLM

Atlas Copco Italia S.p.A. has completed its acquisition of Italian control instruments and torque measurement manufacturer BLM s.r.l. The company has 44 employees. BLM, based near Milan, specializes in torque and tightening testing equipment with 90 percent of sales to the motor vehicle industry. BLM’s products are complementary to Atlas Copco Tools and Assembly Systems’ range, and have mainly been sold in Europe until now. By adding Atlas Copco’s worldwide general industry and motor vehicle industry channels to market, the business is expected to grow significantly.

SPX Sells GSE Tech-Motive Tool to Atlas Copco

SPX Corp. announced today it has completed the sale of its GSE tech-motive tool business to Atlas Copco-owned Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company. GSE tech-motive tool manufactures and distributes specialized tightening solutions for customers with critical assembly applications. Based in Novi, Mich., the business has annual revenues of approximately $25 million.

Atlas Copco Buys Chinese Air Tools Maker

Atlas Copco AB, parent company of Chicago Pneumatic, on Monday acquired the assets of Chinese air tool manufacturer Qingdao Qianshao Precision Machinery. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. As part of the acquisition, a new equity joint venture, CP Qianshao (Qingdao) Power Tools Ltd., has been formed. It will become part of Atlas Copco’s Chicago Pneumatic division, within the Industrial Technique business area.

Makes and models covered include Bluebird, MCI and Prevost buses and motor coaches, Freightliner, International, Mack, Volvo, Peterbilt, Sterling and Kenworth trucks, Bomag and Atlas Copco compressors, Deutz and Fendt tractors and others.

Chicago Pneumatic Vehicle Service Division Acquires Japanese Tool Manufacturer

Chicago Pneumatic, a manufacturer and distributor of aftermarket tools, accessories and compressors, has signed an agreement through parent company Atlas Copco to acquire KTS Co. Ltd., a leading Japanese maker of handheld pneumatic tools for the vehicle service market. Based in Tokyo, KTS’ product range includes Power Magnum tools and air tools sold as OEM brands.
