Delphi CFO Alan Dawes Resigns Amid SEC Investigation
The board of directors for Delphi Corp. announced this morning that Vice Chairman and CFO Alan Dawes is leaving the company and has resigned from its board of directors and its strategy board. John Sheehan has been named acting CFO, effective immediately. Sheehan is the company’s chief accounting officer and controller and will retain those responsibilities while serving as interim CFO. He has been named to the Delphi strategy board and will report to Chairman and CEO J. T. Battenberg III.
AIAG Names Plawecki Acting Executive Director
The Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) announced yesterday that Linda Plawecki has been named acting executive director for the association. Plawecki is replacing Andrew Cummins, who has left AIAG to pursue other opportunities. One of three loaned executives from the Detroit Big Three automakers to AIAG, Plawecki, an executive with Ford Motor Co., previously held the position of AIAG executive director from 2002 until 2003. AIAG’s board of directors has initiated a comprehensive search for a permanent replacement to head up the association.

Alan Dawes, vice chairman and CFO of Delphi Corp., has been elected 2004-2005 chairman of the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) Board of Directors. Outgoing MEMA Chairman Scott Meyer, who stepped down as president of Ken-Tool, was named MEMA president until a permanent president and CEO is found. As a result, Ronald Cutler, TRW Automotive, will continue to serve on the board as past chairman.
