NHTSA Denies RMA Petition for Reserve Tire Pressure

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has formally denied the Rubber Manufacturers Association’s (RMA) petition for a rulemaking to establish recommended cold inflation pressure using a tire pressure reserve. The petition requested that NHTSA include a reserve tire pressure sufficient to allow tires to carry the maximum load of a vehicle at the new tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) regulation trigger point.

SEMA Recommends Changes to Tire-Pressure Monitoring System Plan

The BCSC will sell and promote the entire family of SmarTire products for buses, RVs, commercial vehicles and automobiles as part of its various fleet and corporate driver training courses.

SmarTire Signs Distribution Agreement with Lexani Wheel Corp.

SmarTire Systems has signed a distribution agreement with Lexani Wheel Corp, a manufacturer of luxury alloy wheels based in California. Lexani will bundle SmarTire’s tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) with its Johnson line of custom wheels, which are sold through its dealer base.
