Dennis Borem and Darrell Hoffman of Pro Motor Engines walked away with the top prize at the 2007 MAHLE Clevite Engine Builder Showdown. The top prize included the Randy Dorton Memorial Trophy and a cash prize of $26,000. Kevin Webber and Scott Vester of Hendrick Motorsports received $9,000 in their runner-up effort. Participation in the eighth annual Clevite Engine Builder Showdown — now called the MAHLE Engine Builder Showdown — presented by MAHLE Clevite Inc., is expected to be the highest since the competition was first held in 2000. Nineteen teams from 10 NASCAR engine shops will compete in building and successfully running a NEXTEL Cup 357-cubic-inch Ford engine in the shortest time possible.

For the 10th year, Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper has awarded $16,000 in scholarships to members and/or their children to assist in their post-high school education, to demonstrate that education is a top priority for the company. Since the college scholarship program began, Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper has dedicated over $160,000 to helping its members continue their education. This year 32 selected students each received $500 to use at the school of their choice.
