Meet Wrestling Legends Hulk Hogan and Bill Goldberg at Revolution’s SEMA Booth

World Championship wrestlers and actors Terry “Hulk” Hogan and Bill Goldberg will sign autographs at the Revolution booth 12722 during the SEMA Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center on Wednesday, Nov. 2. Hogan will appear from noon to 1 p.m., followed by Goldberg from 1 to 2 p.m.

Lift Association Elects Officers and Directors

The Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) re-elected Gary Kennon of Rotary Lift (Madison, IN) to serve as chairman of its board of directors at its recent annual membership meeting. Other board members are: Chris Edwards of Western Manufacturing (National City, CA), Jerry Lentz of Challenger Lifts (Louisville, KY), Pete Liebetreu of Hunter Engineering (Bridgeton, MO), Rick Wells of Mohawk Resources (Amsterdam, NY), Doug Grunnet of ALM Auto Lifts/Mach. Corp (Streator, IL) and Harold Yeo of Wheeltronic (Mississauga, ON, Canada). Bob O’Gorman was appointed ALI president by the board and was also elected ALI secretary/treasurer.

Kongsberg Automotive Acquires North American Head Rest Operation

Kongsberg Automotive, a global supplier of automotive seat comfort products, has acquired Milan Seating Systems from Intier Automotive Seating of America Inc. Milan Seating Systems, with operations in Milan, Tenn., is a major supplier of head restraints and arm rests to the North American automotive industry. Milan Seating Systems employs 290 people and is expected to generate annual sales of about $60 million. Milan’s facility specializes in “foam in place” and rotary molding, as well as cut and sew and urethane foam molding.

Taiwanese Company Acquires St. Louis-Based Curtis-Toledo

St. Louis based Curtis-Toledo, Inc., a manufacturer of heavy duty, industrial and automotive air compressors, has been sold to FS-America, a subsidiary of Fu Sheng Industrial Company Ltd, headquartered in Taiwan. Fu Sheng, a manufacturer and distributor of air compressors, has been a supplier of compressors to Curtis-Toledo for more than 25 years. With more than 30 representative offices in China and Taiwan, it is the largest manufacturer and distributor of compressors in the Greater China region.

2005 Automotive News Pace Award Finalists Named

More than 30 automotive suppliers have been named finalists in the 11th annual Automotive News PACE Award competition. Open to suppliers that contribute products, processes, materials or services directly to the manufacture of cars or trucks, the PACE (Premier Automotive Suppliers’ Contribution to Excellence) Award is presented by Automotive News, Capgemini and Transportation Research Center Inc. (TRC Inc.). Judges selected 23 finalists and 10 honorable mention awardees based on extensive written responses to the 2005 PACE Award application. Finalists will now host site visits by industry, academic and business leaders to select the winners, which will be announced in April during the Society of Automotive Engineers conference in Detroit. Judges will evaluate each company’s innovation as well as its management team.

Remy International Sells Williams Technologies to Caterpillar

Remy International (formerly known as Delco Remy International) has signed definitive agreement to sell its U.S. transmission remanufacturing operation, Williams Technologies, Inc. (WTI) to Caterpillar, Inc. This is the second remanufacturing acquisition by Caterpillar announced this week. On Tuesday it was announced that Caterpillar is in the process of buying Wealdstone Engineering Ltd., one of Europe’s leading remanufacturers of gasoline and diesel engines.

Greg Potter Named 2004 ETI President

Greg Potter of Chief Automotive Systems has been elected 2004 president of the Equipment and Tool Institute (ETI).
