IWD/Truck Pride Adds Two New Members

Independent Warehouse Distributors, LLC (IWD) this week announced the addition of two new members to its group. Philipsburg, Pa.-based Bar Industrial, doing business as RP Supply, has joined IWD. Also new to IWD is Valley Truck Parts & Service, located in East Grand Forks, Minn.

ACDelco Announces Executive Appointments

Doug Herberger, General Motors North America (GMNA) vice president and general manager – Service & Parts Operations, announced the appointment of Duane Miller as executive director, GM Service and Parts Business Channels. In this assignment, Miller, executive director, GM Parts business channel, assumes the additional responsibility for the ACDelco business channel. Miller replaces Scott Mackie, who has held the position of executive director, ACDelco since 2001. Mackie will become the regional general manager for the GMNA Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing (VSSM) Northeast region. These moves are effective April 1.

Cole Truck Parts Joins IWD/Truck Pride

Independent Warehouse Distributors (IWD)/Truck Pride this week announced a new member. Cole Truck Parts, the latest member to join the group, began in 1961 as a franchised international truck dealer called Cole Motor Co. Today, Cole represents nearly 80 vendors and carries a full line of parts to meet the needs of the heavy duty trucking industry.

Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing Breaks Ground on New $8 Million Facility in Ohio

Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing Corp. broke ground yesterday for a new $8 million facility that will serve as an addition to the company’s Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing-East complex. Detroit Diesel, a subsidiary of DaimlerChrysler AG, designs, manufactures, sells and services a complete line of medium and heavy duty diesel and alternative fuel engines for the commercial vehicle market. Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing-East produces 70 percent of the remanufactured Detroit Diesel engines nationwide. The company services its customers through a worldwide network of more than 2,700 authorized distributor and dealer locations.

AAIA’s Aaron Lowe Shares the History and How-to’s for its Annual Legislative Summit

Our latest Executive Interview features Jacques Landrevillenand Jim Buzzard. On November 1, Landreville and the Buzzard family completed the merger of Uni-Select and MAWDI. The merger significantly expands Uni-Select’s reach into the U.S., where it will generate revenues of approximately $470 million. As part of the agreement, all current MAWDI and Uni-Select locations will remain under their original names, but at the corporate level MAWDI will operate as a subsidiary of Uni-Select USA. All of the various companies within Uni-Select USA, including MAWDI, will be referred to as Automotive Group USA.
