Hella Reports Modest Sales Gains for the Year
Global automotive supplier Hella has reported a nearly two percent increase in sales for the year ending May 31. The company said the increase was spurred by above-average sales growth in Europe and the Asia/Pacific region and increasing orders for original equipment by North American automakers. Worldwide annual sales for lighting and electronics supplier Hella KGaA Hueck & Co. grew to $3.77 billion for 2003/2004, compared with the previous year’s $3.69 billion, the company reported.
Delphi Seeks to Double European Market Share in Mid-Term
Delphi Automotive Systems Corp wants to double its European market share in the mid-term, Volker Barth, vice-president of the company’s European operations told Focus Money magazine in an interview to appear tomorrow. Delphi currently has a market share of about 6 percent, far less than European market leader Bosch’s 12.8 percent share, the magazine reported.
Soy-Based Products Show Potential Under The Hood
As soy biodiesel continues to gain acceptance at the pump, soy-based lubricants are also fueling the automotive industry. Engine oil and hydraulic power steering fluid are two soy-based products showing potential “under the hood.”
