NASCAR CEO George Pyne Shifts Gears

Milford’s George Pyne is switching gears. After a very successful 10-year run at NASCAR, Pyne confirmed yesterday that he is stepping down as the CEO for stock car racing’s governing body to become the president of IMG Worldwide, Inc, the sports marketing company announced this week.

PPG Shows Future Color Trends

Only a handful of people know what new vehicles will look like in 2009. But automotive paint supplier PPG Industries Inc. already has a good idea what colors those vehicles will be. Blue will get more popular in the next four years as more dramatic shades are introduced, such as watery blue-greens and smoky lilacs. Yellows and oranges will get richer and warmer. Chris Theodore Joins ASC Incorporated

ASC announced that auto-industry veteran Chris Theodore has joined the company as vice chairman. Theodore, 55, will report to ASC President and CEO Paul Wilbur, and will immediately assume primary responsibility for all of the company’s product-development activities, while also assisting with operations and all other automotive business matters at ASC.

Performance Friction Announces Executive Promotion

David Mohr has been promoted to vice president technical and OE sales at Performance Friction Corp. (PFC), a manufacturer of automotive brake pads and rotors with OE, motorsports and aftermarket applications. Mohr joined PFC in 1994 as a materials scientist. He is credited with advancing PFC’s involvement in racing, supporting OEM projects with Ford, GM and Chrysler, and continually improving PFC’s Carbon Metallic friction materials for fleet applications. He previously managed the materials science, disc pad design and dyno/vehicle testing departments.
