PAACE Automechanika Mexico 2010 Hosts Record Show

Total seminar program attendance exceeded 8,500 attendees in 40 sessions over three days.

MEXICO CITY — The 12th edition of PAACE Automechanika Mexico, Mexico and Central America’s most important international trade show for the automotive aftermarket, returned to the Centro Banamex in Mexico City, July 14–16, 2010, with the largest event in its history.

In all, 650 exhibitors from 19 countries around the world exhibited their latest products and services in 9,456 net square meters of exhibition space. The size of the 2010 event grew 140 percent in comparison with 2009, signaling the growth and recovery in the global automotive aftermarket and confirming the opportunities in Mexico’s significant share of the market. Mexican companies accounted for more than 40 percent of the exhibit space on the show floor during the record event.

In addition to the record presentation of exhibitors from Mexico and around the world, PAACE Automechanika Mexico was successful in restricting access to the show to only the most qualified buyers and attendees in the industry.

The event welcomed 12,059 individual qualified buyers and industry press to the 2010 edition, representing the most qualified and highest caliber buyer attendance in many years. Key aftermarket players attended the three-day trade show from Mexico,  Latin America and abroad to find the latest products and services, network with industry colleagues, learn more about the personalization of vehicles and enhance their business in the PAACE Automechanika Mexico Seminar Program.

The 2010 PAACE Automechanika Mexico Seminar Program offered a wide range of technical sessions as well as business seminars to educate both technicians and shop owners on how to improve processes, increase efficiency and continue to develop business. The overall program attendance soared this year to more than 8,500 attendees over the three days.

"Every year, Power Star presents a seminar in conjunction with ATSG, the Automotive Transmission Service Group," said Mayrel Valdes, purchasing agent for Power Star Products Corporation. "And this year we had an attendance of more than 900 people in our seminar. It was a complete success."

A new feature of the Seminar Program this year was the participation of the Automotive Service Association (ASA), offering an enhancement to the educational program with three three-hour sessions each show day on Auto Body Repair, Electrical Troubleshooting and Success in the Automotive Repair Business.
