NGK Names Schwab VP of the Aftermarket Division

Schwab has been integral in leading NGK's aftermarket efforts, according to the company. He's been especially involved with expanding NGK's retail presence, expanding distribution while refining the company's branding efforts. Under Schwab's guidance, NGK's social marketing endeavors have expanded the brand, reaching millions of new consumers.

WIXOM, Mich. — NGK Spark Plugs (USA) has announced the promotion of Michael Schwab to the position of vice president of the aftermarket division. Schwab, a 20-year veteran in the aftermarket, has been with NGK since 1989 and previously served as director of sales and marketing for North America. Prior to that, he served as general manager for NGK Spark Plugs (U.S.A.).

In his new role, Schwab will oversee sales and marketing functions for NGK’s aftermarket and OES channels. He reports to Hideyuki Koiso, president and CEO for NGK.

He’s been especially involved with expanding NGK’s retail presence, expanding distribution while refining the company’s branding efforts. Under Schwab’s guidance, NGK’s social marketing endeavors have expanded the brand, reaching millions of new consumers.

“The aftermarket industry is an ever-evolving marketplace," said Schwab. "Opportunities to grow and succeed are much more challenging than ever. To succeed, we have to quickly adapt to change. We must continuously lead with innovative products, innovative thinking and innovative customer service.”

Schwab, a native of St. Louis, Mo., moved to the Wixom, Mich., headquarters in 2001 as deputy general manager. Through his efforts and ever-increasing responsibility, Schwab has been able to increase service levels while positioning the company to succeed in the future.
