New Product Groups Added To Demand Index Data Platform

Fluids, oils and engine management product groups were added to the Demand Index Data Platform.

The Auto Care Association has announced the addition of new product groups to its Demand Index tool, housed on the TrendLens interactive data platform. With more than two years of improvements and new data, the TrendLens platform is now an established data tool for the automotive aftermarket industry. The Demand Index tool feature provides users with key insights to their product performance against the market while using a common, standardized data language to help improve interactions with their customers.

New Product Groups Available in the Demand Index include:

  • Fluid product groups
    • Heavy Duty Motor Oil (HDMO)
    • Passenger Car Motor Oil (PCMO), Conventional

“With close to 100 product groups and counting, this latest release of new indices to the Demand Index helps to give an even clearer view of the current state of the auto care industry,” said Daniel Zenko, director, data innovation, Auto Care Association. “These seven indices, in particular, will be able to provide insightful data for aftermarket industry manufacturers in the markets for oils and engine management products. As we continue to see economic constraints hitting the economy, the ability to compare product performance against the current market is a valuable tool for businesses to remain competitive and efficient.”

These new product groups are part of nearly 100 product group indices available in the Demand Index. This data can be viewed nationally and regionally across five areas of the United States. Demand Index data is sourced from the top retail and commercial distribution businesses in the automotive aftermarket industry.
