New ALLDATA Product Release Includes i•SHOP Implementation and Data Enhancements

ALLDATA, a leading provider of computer-based automotive repair information and software solutions for service providers, has released its third quarter 2004 product suite for repair professionals, which includes implementation of the i•SHOP standards.

ELK GROVE, CA — ALLDATA, a leading provider of computer-based automotive repair information and software solutions for service providers, has released its third quarter 2004 product suite for repair professionals, which includes implementation of the i•SHOP standards.

i•SHOP is a North American industry-wide initiative that was created to develop a single open standard for communication between different pieces of shop equipment, shop management systems, part catalogs, labor guides and repair information providers. There are currently 30 companies that participate in the i•SHOP standard.

ALLDATA’s third quarter release is fully i•SHOP compliant and includes more than 77,000 pages of new OE information and more than 1,500 new Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). Users will find more than 6,000 pages of updated 1998 to 2000 Volvo testing and wiring information for powertrain management, brakes, HVAC, cruise control, steering & suspension and the supplemental restraint system.

The ‘Technician’s Reference’ portion of the release has been enhanced with updated information and a new feature called ‘Tech Tips,’ which addresses common vehicle complaints and provides the technician with related TSBs or possible solutions to symptoms presented by the customer. In addition, the ‘Shop Operations’ feature now includes updated Motorist Assurance Program (MAP) information and an easier-to-use navigation structure. The emissions control tables have been updated to include 2004 model-year information.
