POTTSTOWN, PA — Driveline component manufacturer NEAPCO Inc. has selected Omnitek as its service provider to handle its automotive data requirements.
“Our needs were to transform our various systems, typically PageMaker files, and Excel spreadsheets into a relational database with the ability to output both print and electronic files,” said Cal Settle, market research and publications manager NEAPCO Inc. “We reviewed several vendors and after the final review, we selected the Omnitek CARS system.”
Settle also mentioned that the tables used within the CARS database are the current AAIA ACES data files. Also, CARS has the ability to connect and download the current ACES files, as they become available.
“Implementation is always an unknown with any vendor selection, however Omnitek has proven to be very proficient using a rapid development approach which they have perfected,” said Settle. “With the development of the print catalog format, then the database modification for our eCat requirements we were able to accomplish both our printed catalog and eCat export files required”
With its first phase completed, NEAPCO has the ability to compose its print catalog in hours rather than weeks, allowing it to focus on the content. The company is currently adding additional print formats and part types to complete its product lines.
