NATEF Announces 2014 Scholarship Recipients

The ASE 2014 scholarship recipient is Collin Huber of Waterford, Va. The two $1,000 Michael Busch Memorial Fund scholarship winners are Lucas Wald of Napeoleon, N.D., and Matthew Bisbee of Orr, Minn.

LEESBURG, Va. – The National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF), in collaboration with the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) Scholarship Fund, announced today the recipients of three scholarships. The ASE 2014 scholarship recipient is Collin Huber of Waterford, Va. The two $1,000 Michael Busch Memorial Fund scholarship winners are Lucas Wald of Napeoleon, N.D., and Matthew Bisbee of Orr, Minn.

The Michael Busch Memorial Scholarship fund was created in memory of the son of former collision shop owner and ASE board member Jim Busch, who operated a business in Issaquah, Wash., until his retirement. Michael was an automotive technology student who tragically lost his battle with cancer. Each recipient of the Michael Busch scholarship receives $1,000 to be used toward their automotive education.

“We are honored to support the future of the automotive service industry through the generous scholarship program established to honor the memory of Michael,” said Trish Serratore, NATEF president. “We congratulate this year’s winners and wish them the all the best in their careers.”

“The partnership with the Michael Busch Memorial Fund has enabled the GAAS scholarships to help even more students pursue their dream of starting a successful career in the automotive industry,” said Pete Kornafel, chairman of the GAAS Scholarship Selection Committee.
