CHANTILLY, VA — The first annual “Heavy Duty Remanufacturer of the Year” award was presented during the 2008 Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association’s Heavy Duty Remanufacturing Group Summit held on Jan. 21.
The inaugural award was presented to Mike Hill, president of Precision Rebuilders of St. Clair, MO, as an acknowledgement of his outstanding leadership and industry vision. The award was presented by APRA Chairman Peter Bain.
Hill served as the first chairman of the Heavy Duty Remanufacturing Group (HDRG) when it was established back in 2004 as an affinity group of APRA members who remanufacture a significant portion of their components for the heavy duty or commercial vehicle marketplace. Throughout his career, Hill has been a tireless advocate for remanufacturing and has made significant contributions to the continued growth and success of APRA. He also served as chairman of APRA in 2006.
The HDRG Summit was held in conjunction with the Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) and was attended by a large audience of remanufacturers and suppliers. HDAW is an annual industry driven week of meetings, conferences and a trade show to centralize the industry’s trade events in one place at one time. The Heavy Duty Remanufacturing Group held its annual HDRG Summit in conjunction with the event.
