RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC — The MEMA Information Services Council (MIS Council) recently launched a subcommittee to develop XML electronic data interchange (EDI) standards to minimize the number of ways aftermarket manufacturers are expected to use XML. These standards ultimately will ease EDI use for companies operating in both the OE supplier market and the aftermarket.
The XML subcommittee, composed of representatives from six different MEMA-member companies/divisions, is working in conjunction with the Open Applications Group (OAG) on this initiative. Formed in 1995, the Open Applications Group, Inc. is a nonprofit association of enterprise application software developers charged with the creation of standards for the integration of enterprise business applications.
The MIS Council XML subcommittee’s next meeting will be held during the Council’s upcoming Fall Conference on Sunday, Oct. 17. Representatives of MIS Council member companies are welcome to attend.
