Melling Engine Parts Acquires Qualcast

Melling said adding QualCast will strengthen its valvetrain business and allow it to expand into new market segments.

Melling Engine Parts has acquired QualCast, a Nashville-based manufacturer and supplier of valvetrain automotive parts. The acquisition, which brings together two companies focusing on valvetrain components, is strategic move to expand Melling’s presence in the automotive industry, the company said.

“QualCast will strengthen Melling’s valvetrain business and allow us to expand into market segments we do not have a strong foothold on,” said Mark Melling, CEO of Melling. He noted that the integration of QualCast will enhance Melling’s valvetrain product range. Despite the acquisition, Melling and QualCast will continue to operate independently but will share the common objective of providing high-quality products to the automotive sector.

Ian Levitt, president and owner of QualCast, added: “I am delighted that Melling is the new owner of QualCast. This is an extremely good fit to enable QualCast to continue to grow and the synergies create even greater efficiency for both companies.”

Melling, known for its manufacturing of oil pumps and powertrain components, serves both the original equipment and aftermarket automotive industries globally. The acquisition of QualCast represents a significant step in Melling’s expansion and commitment to the automotive sector, the company said.
