Matthew Stevenson Appointed To President And General Manager Of Meritor WABCO

Matthew Stevenson - Meritor WABCOMeritor Inc. and WABCO, parent companies of the 50-50 joint venture Meritor WABCO, have announced the appointment of Matthew Stevenson to president and general manager of Meritor WABCO, effective immediately. Meritor WABCO delivers advanced technologies that improve the safety and efficiency of commercial vehicles in North America.

Stevenson brings to Meritor WABCO nearly 20 years of sales, marketing, product strategy and business development experience in the commercial vehicle and automotive industries.

Most recently, Stevenson served in an executive role with Bridgestone Americas Inc. in its Consumer Original Equipment business. Previously, he was vice president of Bridgestone’s Commercial Marketing group managing all marketing operations for the company’s truck, bus and off-the-road tires business, as well as more than 200 commercial stores under the GCR brand.

Prior to his roles at Bridgestone, Stevenson held the position of general manager of North American Field Operations and Marketing for Meritor Inc. from 2010 to 2013. This role entailed sales, service and marketing responsibilities for Meritor WABCO products.

From 2000 to 2010, Stevenson held several positions of increasing responsibility, including executive level roles at Daimler Trucks North America. During his tenure, he led the sales and marketing efforts for the light commercial vehicle business for Daimler Trucks and served as chief operations officer for the Mitsubishi Fuso division.

“Matt will lead a team of world-class professionals at Meritor WABCO,” said Jon Morrison, president, Americas, WABCO. “We are excited to have him lead this important joint venture.”

Stevenson holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Kettering University in Flint, Michigan.
