Martin Fischer to Head Hella’s U.S. Business Units

Dr. Martin Fischer has been named president of Hella’s U.S. Corporate Center, with responsibility for the automotive supplier’s lighting, electronics and aftermarket business units in the United States. Based in Plymouth Township, Mich., outside of Detroit, Fischer also will continue to serve as president of Hella Electronics Corp., a position he assumed in early 2007. Hella Electronics has manufacturing and product development facilities in both the United States and Mexico.

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Dr. Martin Fischer has been named president of Hella’s U.S. Corporate Center, with responsibility for the automotive supplier’s lighting, electronics and aftermarket business units in the United States.

Based in Plymouth Township, Mich., outside of Detroit, Fischer also will continue to serve as president of Hella Electronics Corp., a position he assumed in early 2007. Hella Electronics has manufacturing and product development facilities in both the United States and Mexico.

Fischer began his career at Hella in 2006 as executive vice president of quality management at Hella’s Electronics business unit in Lippstadt, Germany. Prior to joining Hella, he worked in the body and chassis electronics division at Siemens VDO in Regensburg, Germany.

Fischer holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Darmstadt University of Technology in Darmstadt, Germany, where he went on to earn a Ph.D. in electrical engineering. He studied control systems engineering at the University of California in Berkley as part of his master’s program.

He resides with his wife and two children in Novi, Mich.
