‘Live’ From Leadership 2.0: Zimmerman’s Jacquie Hower

Leadership 2.0 participants are taking part in Session II of this program this week in Raleigh, North Carolina.

This week, in partnership with the University of the Aftermarket, we offer you a front row seat into the Leadership 2.0 experience thanks to participants in this year’s session. Leadership 2.0 is a two-week, residential aftermarket-focused education program hosted by The University of the Aftermarket at Northwood University. Today we hear from Jacquie Hower, director of operations, Zimmerman’s Automotive Tire Pros.

Leadership 2.0 Session 2 Day 4. A bittersweet day.

The day we have all been preparing for has come. Project Day! We started our day with a roundtable discussion on what past Leadership 2.0 classes predicted for 2022 and what our predictions would be for 2035. Next, eight teams presented on eight different aftermarket topics. We all brought our game and cracked into our creativity to present our topic to the class. Each group gave their all and brought important awareness to their topic.

Topics included the importance of marketing and branding, the future of the repair shop in the world of electric vehicles, MAP pricing, the current tech shortage, ADAS, succession planning, supply chain disruption and e-commerce.

And the winner is…. EV Phone Home (that was my team!) with our project on “The future of the repair shop in a world of electric vehicles.”

Back on August 22, 2021, we all walked into the Sloan Family Building for Aftermarket Studies as strangers. On March 24, 2022, we leave Raleigh as good friends. Some of us still very new to the aftermarket and some of us having been in the industry for decades. We may be competitors but that doesn’t matter. We are all champions for the aftermarket and we have formed relationships that will last a lifetime.

To all those who are curious if this is something that you should do, DO IT! You will thank me later. To all my Leadership 2.0 friends. It has been an extreme pleasure learning from you during the past few months! A special thank you to all the staff who made this class possible and for taking time to share important lessons from the industry. We appreciate you! And lastly, a shoutout to CCPN (Car Care Professionals Network) for providing me a scholarship to attend this amazing class!
