Largest-Ever Leadership 2.0 Class Begins Busy Week on Campus

Thirty industry professionals gather on Northwood University's Michigan campus; Session I kicked off with address by industry sales executive Roger McCollum.

MIDLAND, Mich. – The largest class in the history of the University of the Aftermarket Leadership 2.0 program assembled Sunday on the Midland, Mich., campus of Northwood University for nearly a full week of intensive learning, problem-solving and networking activities. Leadership 2.0 is the aftermarket’s cornerstone educational program for next-generation industry leaders. Roger McCollum, president and CEO of N.A. Williams Co., spoke to Leadership 2.0 participants about the importance of relationships in the evolving aftermarket.
 
With a record 30 participants representing every level of the aftermarket value chain, the incoming class began its work with a Sunday evening convocation ceremony in the rotunda of the University’s Sloan Family Building for Aftermarket Studies. Featured speaker was Roger McCollum, president and CEO of N.A. Williams Co., who discussed the importance of relationships in the evolving aftermarket.
 
“Roger’s address was an excellent kick-off to what will be an intellectually challenging and very rewarding week for our participants,” said Brian Cruickshank, AAP, director of the University of the Aftermarket. “Our new class is clearly eager to begin their exploration of industry challenges and opportunities and the principles of effective leadership.”
 
The class will participate in nearly 12 hours of daily classes and other industry-specific activities. Cruickshank will begin each day with a discussion of important industry news and related business trends.

Leadership 2.0 is designed for any mid-level professional working in any segment of the aftermarket, including manufacturing, retail operations, wholesale distributing, program group management, association management and vehicle service operations. The program comprises two intensive five-day sessions conducted on Northwood University’s campuses in Midland, Mich., and West Palm Beach, Fla.
