TROY, Mich. Joseph "Joe" Mejaly has been appointed vice president and general manager of AxleTech International, a General Dynamics company. AxleTech develops and manufactures axles, brakes and suspension systems for off-highway and specialty vehicles.
AxleTech International is a supplier of off-highway and specialty vehicle drivetrain systems and components, focusing on nine vocational markets: agricultural, aircraft ground support, construction, forestry, material handling, military, mining, specialty truck and transit. AxleTech also provides aftermarket service and support in all markets.
Mejaly will lead the company’s global management team in executing customer-focused strategies to develop and deliver high-quality products that exceed customers’ expectations. Special focus will be placed on attaining operational excellence in the company’s seven facilities around the world.

Previously, Mejaly served as vice president of Meritor Inc., and president of Meritor’s Aftermarket & Trailer group, based in Troy, Mich. He was responsible for drivetrain, undercarriage, remanufactured products and service logistic solutions. He also directed the company’s Trailer Products business. He joined Meritor in 1995. Mejaly holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Mich. He served as the co-chairman of Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week and has been an active participant in the Heavy Duty Business Forum.
