ANN ARBOR, MI Affinia Group has hired Jeff Stauffer to serve as senior vice president of global group marketing. Stauffer’s appointment is the latest in a string of new appointments at the company this month. (To see other related appointments at Affinia, click here.)
“Jeff comes to us with 30 years of experience in the aftermarket, having worked with many of the industry’s leading brands,” said Terry McCormack, Affinia president and chief executive officer. “His expertise in category management, brand and product development and global business is a perfect match for our plans.
“As our operations people complete our global restructuring in 2007, Jeff and his realigned marketing team will be aggressively implementing category management with Affinia’s channel partners,” McCormack continued. “He brings with him a unique knowledge base covering every facet of category management, all the way from primary research to customer interface. Jeff has a proven track record of applying science to improve sales.”
Stauffer also will be responsible for product management, pricing strategy, marketing, and stewardship of Affinia’s brands on a global basis, including WIX filters, Raybestos brand brakes, Spicer chassis components, Nakata, Quinton Hazell and others. He will report to Jerry McCabe, senior vice president of business architecture.
Prior to joining Affinia, Stauffer was vice president of marketing for the consumer products division of Old World Industries. In that position he managed all aspects of product development and brand management for a diverse portfolio of products, including PEAK Antifreeze and Mr. Clean Auto Care. Before moving to Old World in 1997, Stauffer had worked at Moog Automotive/Cooper Industries for 13 years. He began his career at Tenneco Automotive in 1976. His 30 years in the aftermarket also have included extensive experience in sourcing, research, sports marketing, public relations, advertising, as well as category management.
Stauffer is a board member of the Automotive Sales Council and has served on the AAIA Marketing and Membership committees. He earned a B.B.A. degree in Business Management and Accounting from Northwood University, where he serves on the Board of Governors for Michigan and the Automotive Aftermarket Advisory Council.
