BETHESDA, MD — April is National Car Care Month (NCCM) and while it is now less than a month away, it’s not too late to get in the game.

2004 marks the second year that NCCM will take place in April. Designed to focus motorists’ attention on the importance of car repair and maintenance, NCCM began as a state-wide program in Ohio. In 1981 the Car Care Council was asked to launch the campaign nationwide.

Car Care events last year provided startling results. Ninety percent of vehicles that were inspected during National Car Care Month failed one or more aspects of the inspection, according to the Car Care Council.

Don’t let 2004 be a repeat performance.

The Car Care Council has developed an entire Web site devoted to promoting safety, dependability and pride of ownership. The site features a number of tools to help aftermarket businesses spread the word, including a starter kit, event planning guide and numerous promotional items.
