Industry Organizations Show Support for Hurricane Ian Victims

AACF and CIF are both currently accepting donations to help industry members in need.

Two important industry organizations have announced intentions to support those in need following Hurricane Ian, which recently devastated parts of Florida and South Carolina.

The Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation (AACF) is making preparations to aid aftermarket families affected by Hurricane Ian. “It is very early in the process, but our intention is to explore every avenue to identify aftermarket families that need our help during this natural disaster,” said AACF President, Larry Magee. To make a donation to AACF, click here

Collision repair professionals in need can reach out to Collision Industry Foundation (CIF) to request disaster relief assistance. CIF is a nonprofit organization that has worked over 20 years to aid people with ties to the collision industry after disasters. Most recently, CIF provided industry colleagues with $275,000 in COVID-19 aid and assisted Bryan Miller, an Ohio-based technician and painter, whose body was severely burned in a shop fire. The CIF also helped many victims of hurricanes Katrina, Michael, Florence, Harvey, Laura and wildfire victims in Paradise, CA.

Earlier last week, CIF posted a reminder on their Facebook and LinkedIn pages that they are available to help: “CIF is here to assist Collision Repair professionals who have suffered a significant loss during the recent natural disasters such as damages from Hurricane Ian.” CIF also has in place a regular outreach procedure, asking donors and supporters to be ‘boots on the ground’ – to help identify people in need.

Disaster relief assistance can be requested via the CIF website at:
https://www.collisionindustryfoundation.org/ or call toll-free 855-4CIFAID or direct 804-427-6982 for information about available resources.
