“We are excited to add Hanson Distributing Company to the Federated family and look forward to supporting the needs of this great organization along with those of their customers,” said Rusty Bishop, CEO of Federated Auto Parts. “Like many Federated members, the Hanson family is truly dedicated to their business and customers’ needs. We understand and identify with the challenges that family businesses face today and look forward to working together with them for continued success.”

Hanson Distributing supplies automotive products throughout California from nine distribution points and 10 company store locations. The company, founded in 1954 by Merrill and Marjorie Hanson, is currently operated by second-generation owners Daniel Hanson and his wife, Sue. The next generation, children Dan Jr., Dave and Laurie, also are active in the business and provide a great foundation for the future. Dan Jr., who currently serves on the Hanson board of directors, is active in the industry, serving as chairman of CAWA and on the Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA) board of governors.

“The Federated group aligns well with the current and future business model of Hanson Distributing Co., allowing us to maintain our focus on our diverse customer base,” said Hanson Sr. “We are both dedicated to high-quality branded products, outstanding service, solid marketing programs and technology that is focused on the needs of the market.”

Hanson Distributing says it has an aggressive rollout planned for the Federated program with its customers, including enhanced information technology processes, marketing programs and customer support along with a complete training program for customers and associates.

Located in Azusa, California, Hanson headquarters are located within a 200,000-square-foot distribution center.
