SEOUL, Korea Hankook Tire has been selected for inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index (DJSI Asia Pacific) for two years in a row. Identified through a corporate sustainability assessment, Hankook Tire has once again been recognized as a sustainability leader in the Asia-Pacific region.
Assessed based on long-term economic, environmental and social criteria, Hankook Tire has been included in the DJSI Asia Pacific as a sustainability leader, represented as one of the top 148 companies of the approximately 600 largest corporations in the Asia Pacific region. In particular, Hankook Tire obtained high scores in core components of corporate sustainability such as climate change strategy, talent attraction and retention, ethics management and environmental management.
As a responsible corporate citizen, Hankook Tire has been promoting corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities via various internal and external programs. The company undertakes philanthropic initiatives through Hankook Tire Welfare Foundation, established to take on company-wide social contribution efforts including academic scholarship programs, support for charity hospitals in Korea as well as volunteer works for local communities. Also, internally, Hankook Tire took a multi-faceted approach to reinforce internal employee ethics such as a re-alignment of the employee code of ethics, conducting internal ethics education as well as fair-trade campaigns.

Hankook Tire has been named to the DJSI Korea since 2011 and was included in the DJSI Asia Pacific in 2013 a first for the Korean tire industry.
