Grip Purchases Cadillac CTS and STS Tooling Assets from The D3 Group

Late-model body kits for the Cadillac STS and CTS now available from Grip.

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – Core-Tech, parent company of Grip Tuning, says it is aggressively growing the company’s luxury body kit manufacturing capacity with the immediate purchase of all the tooling assets for the 2005 to current Cadillac STS model vehicles and the 2008 to current date CTS models previously owned by The D3 Group (D3).

D3 is recognized for developing SEMA-award-winning Cadillac body kit molds and has a longstanding reputation for quality craftsmanship and OE fit created from precision CNC machined parts. For the past three years, the company’s Cadillac STS and CTS kits have been the recipient of the prestigious GM design award.

Included in the purchase by Grip are 2005 to date STS model fenders and vents, roof spoiler, rocker panels, grille and front fascia with wire mesh grille with the fascia manufactured with GM’s factory-specified polyurethane. Additionally, Grip has purchased the tooling to manufacture D3’s 2008 to current CTS model body kits that include the roof spoiler, rear bumper diffuser, rocker panels, front fascia and wire mesh grille and trunk spoiler. Again, the fascia is manufactured only from GM factory-specified polyurethane.

Core-Tech President David Phillips said, “Our CTS-V body kit was an immediate hit at the 2011 SEMA show. We have a growing following of Cadillac enthusiasts and customers that have asked for more late-model kit options. With this purchase we should be operational within the next 45 days. This purchase fits with our plans to become the standard bearer for styling for the Cadillac line while providing the capital resources we need to innovate for future models.”
