As a manufacturer, GRI is purposeful in using the most advanced technologies available, with globally renowned machines that enable the company to build tires with an increased degree of precision, lower operator dependency and greater automation. The new Comerio Calendar signals a step-up in technological innovation at GRI. The company says it is the first specialty tire manufacturer in Sri Lanka to use this advanced machine to build its tires.
The Comerio Calendar is a precision machine that ensures high-quality output, allowing for a higher degree of accuracy in rubberizing. This is vital when manufacturing superior quality tires, specifically radial agriculture tires. This highly efficient machine can deliver an output as high as 300 tons a day and is outfitted with up-stream and down-stream equipment to excel in the rubberizing of fabrics such as nylon, polyester and steel.
With the installation of this machine, GRI is able to produce steel belted radials designed for all categories that will be engineered to deliver enhanced performance. GRI also will advance further to build all-steel radial tires.
“With an investment of over $40 million, GRIs factory is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and many of the machines are the first of their kind to be commissioned in Sri Lanka. Our Marangoni Tire Building Machine is another prime example of GRIs persistence for technological innovation and engineering strength,” said Prabhash Subasinghe, managing director GRI.
GRIs specialty tire factory is completely self-sufficient and is certified by ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.
Since 1936, COMERIO ERCOLE spa, has been producing machines for rubber, non-woven fabric and plastics and is at present, a global leader in the manufacturing of machinery for the production of tires.
