FRAM Brand Gives Consumers a Shot at Their Dream Garage

DANBURY, CT — To help retailers increase their oil filter sales and encourage drivers to stay on top of oil change intervals, the FRAM brand is launching a new oil change rebate and “Dream Garage” game. Both will run until Aug. 31.

The game gives consumers the chance to win the garage of their dreams while the FRAM oil change promotion allows consumers to receive $5 off the purchase of both five quarts of motor oil and a FRAM oil filter (by mail-in rebate).

Backed by a $5 million advertising campaign, the rebate promotion supports the “FRAM oil change” by emphasizing the importance of regular oil changes. As part of the campaign, the FRAM team has launched two national ads that have a five-second call-to-action at the end to drive consumers to the FRAM brand’s website. The advertising campaign showcases the brand’s market position by using such taglines as, “When it comes to choosing motor oil, there are hundreds of choices; when it comes to choosing a filter, there is only one: FRAM.”

In support of the promotion and game, the brand’s website, http://www.fram.com has been updated to feature the $5 off promotion. Once visitors click on any of the promotion links, they will be forwarded to a separate microsite where the $5 coupon along with information about the “My Dream Garage” game can be viewed. To receive the $5 off mail-in rebate, consumers simply have to download the rebate coupon from the website and mail it in for fulfillment.

The "My Dream Garage" content on the website asks consumers who want to enter the game to answer five filter-related questions for registration. Time/date technology will allow six winners to be randomly selected by Aug. 31. The winners will receive their very own dream garage provided by Garage Tek and Snap-On Tools (or the dollar equivalent if they do not have a garage). In addition to the six Dream Garage winners, daily winners will be awarded various prizes including hats, shirts and other promotional items.

Advertising for the promotion will run in numerous media outlets including ESPN, the Speed Channel and Fox Sports Net just to name a few.

Retailers and wholesalers can call their Honeywell sales representative or log on to www.honeywellauto.com for more information.
