Elgie Bright Named Chair of Northwood University’s Automotive Marketing Program

Bright assumes the role following the retirement of Joseph Lescota, who has held the position since 2000. Bright has held the position of field district sales manager for General Motors for the past 12 years with the responsibilities of implementing market plans for assigned areas and focusing on meeting all strategic growth initiatives.

MIDLAND, Mich. – Northwood University recently announced the addition of Elgie Bright as assistant professor and chair of its automotive marketing program. Bright assumes the role following the retirement of Joseph Lescota, who has held the position since 2000.
 
Bright earned a BA from Adrian College and his MBA from Northwood University. He has more than 20 years of experience in the automotive retail, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and aftermarket industry. Bright has held the position of field district sales manager for General Motors for the past 12 years with the responsibilities of implementing market plans for assigned areas and focusing on meeting all strategic growth initiatives. He also has experience as assistant manager for Art Moran Pontiac in Southfield, Mich., where he acted as liaison between the fixed operations department and General Motors.
 
According to the university, Bright possesses a strong background in management through optimizing key resources, cost controls and maximizing profitability working with retail outlets. He has been instrumental in increasing gross profit opportunities through innovative problem solving and program development.
 
Bright also is a member of Flushing Rotary, president of Flushing Church Trustee Board and vice chair of Leadership Genesee Community Foundation.
