The editorial staff of aftermarketNews (AMN) is proud to announce the sixth annual AMN Year in Review series, which begins today.

This year, rather than reviewing what we felt were the most important news items in 2009 we instead bring you the news that you and your fellow AMN readers found to be most compelling. Consider it democracy in action — with every click of the mouse being equal to a vote.

Asahi Kasei announced it will construct its previously announced integrated lithium-ion battery (LIB) separator plant in Port Colborne, which is in the Niagara region of Ontario, Canada. The new manufacturing facility will operate as Asahi Kasei Battery Separator Canada and is expected to create highly skilled, good-paying jobs in manufacturing and construction, according to the latest press information. The start of commercial production is currently slated for 2027.
