Department Of Energy’s Patrick Davis Named Green Truck Summit 2014 Keynote Speaker

Summit will be held in conjunction with The Work Truck Show 2014.

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. — The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Vehicle Technologies Office Director Patrick Davis will serve as the keynote speaker at this year’s Green Truck Summit, held March 4–5 in conjunction with The Work Truck Show 2014 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Ind. Davis will present the keynote address at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4.

The Green Truck Summit is a leading educational conference on clean vehicle technology for vocational trucks. It is part of The Work Truck Show, North America’s largest work truck event. The trade show floor is open March 5-7.

At the DOE Vehicle Technologies Office, Davis works to help reduce America’s dependence on foreign oil and secure a clean energy future. The office supports approximately $290 million in annual research funding for hybrid drivetrains, advanced batteries, lightweight materials, advanced combustion and fuels, vehicle systems integration and Clean Cities deployment activities.

Davis has more than 30 years of experience in the development of vehicle, alternative fuel and electrochemical technologies. He is responsible for significant government and private industry partnerships, including the U.S. DRIVE Partnership, the 21st Century Truck Partnership and the DOE’s EV Everywhere Grand Challenge.

The Green Truck Summit features more than 20 educational sessions, including a chassis OEM forum moderated by Indianapolis Mayor Gregory Ballard. The panel, which runs from 8-9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, will provide attendees with the rare opportunity to hear directly from nine leading vocational truck OEMs about how their future vehicles will reduce fuel costs, increase efficiency and improve productivity.
