TROY, MI — Delphi has announced organizational changes in its Delphi Product & Service Solutions division, the company’s aftermarket and consumer products division.
Russell W. H. Bailey, managing director of Delphi Integrated Service Solutions, a business unit of Delphi Product & Service Solutions, is retiring after more than 36 years in the industry. Mark Theriot, currently director of global service technologies, will succeed Bailey in this role, in addition to maintaining his current responsibilities. Under the new organizational structure, Theriot will have full global responsibility for executing Delphi’s service strategy and vision.
Bailey began his career with a subsidiary of Applied Power, Inc. in Canada, holding management positions in sales before moving to the U.S. in 1978. He then held management and executive positions with several automotive companies including Applied Power, Bear Automotive and SPX Corp. Prior to joining Delphi in 2001, Bailey was president of AutoVice Consulting, an automotive-focused consulting company.
Prior to joining Delphi in 2000, Theriot spent 19 years in the aftermarket, most recently serving as director, marketing and education for Snap-on Diagnostics. Previously, he was director of North American training operations for the Bear Automotive Division of SPX. Theriot is a charter member of the Automotive Training Managers Council as well as a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers. He is the recipient of the 1994 ATMC Excellence in Training Award and is an ASE Certified Automotive Technician.
Gary Abusamra has been named director of engineering and quality. Previously serving as chief engineer, Engine Management Systems (EMS) for Delphi’s Energy & Chassis Division, Abusamra replaces Dominic Seto who was recently named managing director, Asia Pacific.
Abusamra joined General Motors in 1981 as a student engineer. Following various engineering assignments with GM’s vehicle and powertrain divisions, Abusamra joined Delphi in 1991 as senior project engineer at Delphi’s Luxembourg Technical Center. Upon his return to the U.S. in 1994, Abusamra was assigned to Delphi’s Energy & Chassis Division before being named to his current assignment in 2002.
Mark Shasteen has been named director of global manufacturing. In his new position, Shasteen will focus on global manufacturing and remanufacturing initiatives specific to the needs of Delphi’s OE service and aftermarket customers. Shasteen began his Delphi career in 1979 at the Packard Electric Division in Warren, Ohio, as a student engineer. In 1995, Shasteen was named business segment manager for Service and Engineering Samples, responsible for low volume manufacturing and the service and prototype business. He joined the division in 2000 and was named integration manager, supporting the several business acquisitions globally and the formation of the aftermarket organization in North America. In 2002, Shasteen was named director pf Original Equipment Service sales, his previous position.
All these appointments are effective immediately and in their new assignments, these executives will report to Francisco (Frank) Ordonez, president, Delphi Product & Service Solutions and vice president of Delphi Corp.
