TROY, Mich. — Dayco Power Transmission has appointed Michael Kamsickas to the role of president of North America Original Equipment. Dayco COO Mario Botto Micca made the announcement.
“By bringing Mike on board, Dayco can efficiently deliver exciting new technologies and products to customers throughout the North American vehicle market,” said Botto Micca. “With the opening of our second tech center here last October, we boosted our regional design, engineering and testing resources. Now, Mike’s charged with aggressively leveraging these capabilities.”
“Dayco is committed to ongoing materials research and advanced product development,” said Kamsickas. “Our newest tech lineup includes highly engineered components that play an integral role in making vehicles more energy efficient through improved engine and accessory drive performance.”
Kamsickas said OE interest in Dayco’s “green” products is particularly strong as companies seek to squeeze more power from gas and diesel engines. Dayco’s latest innovations its timing belt in oil and DDOS damping system for light-duty applications, and its over-running alternator pulley for heavy-duty are proving to have broad market appeal.
“With the trend in localizing innovation and technology, we can be very nimble in responding to specific customer needs,” said Kamsickas. “Plus, Dayco’s unparalleled engine knowledge will prove useful as OEs begin developing smaller, high performing light-duty vehicles.”
Kamsickas brings 25 years of global automotive experience to Dayco. He spent six years in leadership positions at Faurecia, most recently as vice president of North America strategic planning. Prior to that he was vice president and general manager at Valeo Engine Cooling, and vice president at Lear Corp.
