MAUMEE, Ohio — Dana Holding Corp. announced that Aziz Aghili has joined the company as president of Europe. In this role, Aghili will have responsibility for leading growth and activities across Dana’s European operations and ensuring that the company’s business in the region is aligned with the strategic direction of the organization. Dana maintains 19 operations in 10 European countries and reported sales of $2.4 billion in the region last year.
"Aziz is a respected leader who brings a wealth of operational and functional expertise to our European operations," said Dana President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Sweetnam. "He also brings deep global experience and relationships that will help maximize our growth potential in this important region."
Aghili comes to Dana from ArvinMeritor, a global supplier of integrated systems, modules and components to original equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket for the transportation and industrial sectors. He most recently served as vice president and general manager of Body Systems, a $1.4 billion division with 24 global manufacturing facilities based in Europe. Over the past 20 years with the company, Aghili held strategic leadership positions around the world, including vice president and general manager of Asia Pacific and vice president of global procurement, commercial marketing and business development – Asia Pacific. He also spent several years in the U.S., Malaysia and Australia. Prior to joining ArvinMeritor, Aghili worked for Nissan Motor Co. and General Electric Plastics.
Aghili earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Teesside Polytechnic University in the United Kingdom. He also holds graduate diplomas in business administration from the University of New South Wales and international management and business administration from the Insead Business School in France.
