Dan Sacconi Named General Manager Of Fontaine Modification’s New Truck Modification Center

This Avon Lake, Ohio, facility is dedicated to modifying and upfitting the new Ford F-650 and F-750 medium-duty trucks that are built at the Ford Ohio Assembly Plant.

Dan Sacconi has been named general manager of the new Fontaine Modification Vocational Services Truck Modification Center in Avon Lake, Ohio. This facility is dedicated to modifying and upfitting the new Ford F-650 and F-750 medium-duty trucks that are built across the street at the Ford Ohio Assembly Plant.

Fontaine Modiciation - Dan SacconiSacconi and his team have been busy preparing 19,000 square feet of the new Fontaine Modification facility that is now operational, as well as gearing up to get the remaining 30,000 square feet ready for additional Ford production later this year. Fontaine will use the facility to install all-wheel drive systems and a special tractor package for beverage fleets and other less than truckload shipping (LTL) and local delivery applications. Fontaine also will make wheelbase changes and perform compressed natural gas (CNG) tank upfits on F-650 and F-750 trucks at the facility. Ford dealers and fleet customers can work with Fontaine to develop custom modifications for their specific applications. Fontaine’s ship-through agreement with Ford (31V) allows modifications to be completed without any additional shipping cost to the customer.

“Dan brings more than two decades of experience with truck modification, upfitting and facility management to his new position leading our Avon Lake truck modification center,” said Paul Kokalis, president of Fontaine Modification. “Under his leadership, the process of moving into the facility and preparing it for the first phase of production has gone smoothly, and we are excited to begin production in support of Ford and our mutual customers.”

Sacconi has a long career in the transportation industry. He had motor transport training during his seven years in the U.S. Marine Corps and formal training in motor fleet maintenance management at Wright State University. He previously served as a production manager for Volvo Trucks in Orrville, Ohio, and as an operations manager of a Reading Group upfit facility in Clinton, Maryland. Sacconi has spent more than 14 years with Fontaine Modification, serving as operations manager of the modification centers in Dublin, Virginia, and Garland, Texas.
