BRUSSELS Arnaud de David-Beauregard, president of European Automotive Suppliers’ Association (CLEPA), has announced the appointment of Paul Schockmel, 52, as its new CEO. A native of Luxembourg, he will assume responsibilities on Aug. 25, succeeding Jean Marc Gales, who stepped down at the end of April 2014.
Announcing the appointment, de David-Beauregard said, “Schockmel brings a great combination of strategic, operational and public policy experience. I am very confident that he will provide strong leadership at the helm of the CLEPA Brussels Office, and help us even better serve the needs and promote the interests of our members, as well as the entire European automotive industry.”
Prior to assuming this position, Schockmel was the vice president corporate strategy and marketing at IEE S.A. in Luxembourg. During a 20-year professional career spent in the automotive industry, Schockmel has gained a wealth of executive experience in the areas of corporate and business development, innovation management, communications and public affairs. Among other professional activities, Schockmel previously held the position of president of the Luxembourg Automotive Components Supplier Cluster and, since 2012, has been a member of the CLEPA Board of Directors.
”I am proud and excited to take up this new challenge. Through the outstanding commitment of its corporate and national members, CLEPA will be in a strong position to develop highly efficient and sustainable mobility solutions,” said Schockmel.
